Privacy Policy
The Club is a private golf pool app you join by invitation. This policy covers what we collect and what we do with it, in plain language.
What we collect
Your email address, a display name you choose, an optional avatar photo, optional payment handles you add yourself (like a Venmo username), and the golf picks, scores, and messages you create inside your pools. That is the whole list. We do not collect your location, contacts, or anything from other apps.
What we deliberately avoid
No advertising, no ad trackers, no selling or renting your information, no data brokers, and no third-party analytics profiles. Sign-in uses one-time email codes, so there is no password for us to store or lose.
How we use it
To run your pools: signing you in, scoring your picks against live tournament data, showing standings to the other members of your pool, and delivering pool chat. We send email only for sign-in codes and notifications you can turn off in your account settings.
Who can see it
Members of a pool can see each other's display names, avatars, picks, scores, payment handles, and chat messages within that pool, that is what a pool is. Nothing about you is public, and pools are joinable by invitation only.
Where it lives
Data is stored with Supabase (our database provider) and served through Vercel, both over encrypted connections. Sign-in emails are delivered by Resend. Live golf data and player photos come from third-party sports data providers and contain nothing about you.
How long we keep it
For as long as your account exists, so your pools have their history. When you delete your account, your profile, picks, memberships, and messages are deleted immediately, along with any pools only you ran. Backups age out on a rolling basis shortly after.
Delete your account yourself
Open your Account page and choose "Delete my account and data." It works in the app and on the web, takes effect immediately, and does not require emailing anyone. If you run a pool that still has members, hand it off first so your crew keeps their history.
Your rights
You can see everything we hold about you from inside the app, correct it on your Account page, or erase it with the deletion flow above. If you want a copy of your data, or live somewhere with privacy laws that give you additional rights (GDPR, CCPA, and friends), email us and we will honor the request.
Children
The Club is for adults organizing golf pools with friends and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
No gambling; not a betting service
The Club is a recreational, skill-based entertainment application. It is not a sportsbook, daily fantasy sports operator, or gambling service of any kind; it does not offer, facilitate, process, or accept wagers; and it is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or comparable to DraftKings, FanDuel, or any similar operator. The buy-in and payout features are recordkeeping tools only: The Club does not collect, hold, escrow, transmit, or distribute funds, and no money passes through the service at any time. Any financial arrangement among pool members is made privately, at their sole discretion and responsibility, outside of The Club. Members are responsible for ensuring that their participation complies with the laws of their jurisdiction.
